Dango Tokyo is a quiet Japanese kitchen that began at home.
It was started by a Japanese mother after her children moved out. What began as cooking simple, familiar meals for friends within Delhi’s Japanese expat community slowly grew into something slightly bigger.
The food is everyday Japanese cooking: honest flavours, careful balance, and respect for ingredients.
Why “Dango”, even though it’s not on the menu?
Dango is a Japanese sweet. It’s something you eat casually, something tied to memory. You’ll find it at festivals, on quiet streets, in ordinary moments of Japanese life.
Dango Tokyo isn’t named after a dish on the menu. Dango embodies Japanese food at its most unpretentious: comforting, simple, and warm. That same spirit runs through everything on our menu.
Yes, it’s a little confusing. Like naming a place “Rice” and not serving any.. rice
Our menu is built around everyday Japanese food.
We serve sushi rolls prepared with carefully sourced, fresh ingredients, alongside a selection of authentic à la carte dishes.
We also offer a bento box, which changes bi-weekly. The contents are decided by seasonality, availability, and careful curation.
We provide catering and bulk orders for private events and businesses.
Menus are curated according to the scale, timing, and purpose of each event, with consideration for seasonality, sourcing, and service requirements.
